About
Spase626 is a creative literacy nonprofit. Reading fuels creativity, and we’re making space for it. Our mission centers around stories, empowerment and supporting the next generation of creatives.
“Instead of the traditional written book report we had to read in front of the class, my fifth grade teacher gave us the freedom to choose how we crafted our book reports. Reading wasn’t my favorite subject but we had a new book report due every month, so I took the liberty to get creative.
I turned my book reports into shoebox scenes, I’d redesign the book covers, and I even wrote scripts and casted my classmates to perform my favorite moments from the story. Eventually, it became something I really looked forward to. Each project taught me something new about myself, sparked new interests and hobbies, and it reshaped how I viewed stories. It became less about an assignment and more about curiosity and creativity.
This organization was born from that same spark, to reimagine how you experience stories. Reading is powerful and full of benefits, but when paired with creativity, it becomes more engaging and transformative. I celebrate creative literacy by sharing my “spase” with you, a supportive place for art, stories and exploration. Dive in, get creative and discover something about yourself.”
